Client Testimonials

“Dana is a pleasure to work with – efficient, organized, flexible, and thoughtful.  The perspective, skills, and experience she brought to our work together –  as a thought partner and implementer on budgeting, communicating with funders, and strategic planning – were significant assets to the Campaign.”

– Sara Gould, former Associate Director, Caring Across Generations Campaign

“I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Dana as both an event planner and grant writer. She is detail oriented, asks great questions, and is responsive and thorough. She is pro-active about making sure we are on top of grant deadlines and sending in our materials on time. She has helped take my jumble of thoughts and ideas and turn it into persuasive writing and grant reports. I would gladly recommend her as a grant writer or event planner for other organizations needing the help of a smart, talented professional.”

– Mike Gast, Associate Director, Resource Generation

“As a fund-raising consultant and audience development coordinator for my performance-community education project, “East Towards Home”, Dana deployed her formidable array of skills, vision, talents and dedication, always with integrity. Dana brings to her consulting practice a strong background as a community organizer, and this shows in her ability to engage and inspire others within a project or campaign.

“She also brings excellent skills as an administrator – after each of my weekly meetings with her, I came way with my mind better organized, with clear action steps and tasks. Dana can envision a project within its own wider context, seeing the needs of its continuing life-cycle from the outside and providing invaluable perspective in that regard: at the end of the phase of the project that she was consulting on, I came out with useful databases, email lists, website development – all things that she helped to foster and assemble. I was very confident in Dana’s ability to represent the project — with press, in networking with other organizations, and in supervising participants, volunteers, and workers on the project.  She is a thoughtful and effective supervisor, bringing an unusual combination of sensitivity and directness to each of her interactions. Dana is extremely well-organized, with very strong follow-up skills and systems, which helped me keep track of the multiple strands of my project over many months. She is extremely efficient and generous in her consulting practice; she understands the balance between delegating tasks to others, and rolling up her own sleeves when there are specific tasks that will help to release others’ initiative in the many prongs of the campaign.”

– Billy Yalowitz, Playwright, and Associate Professor, Temple University

“Dana was so wonderful to work with on our annual dinner, and she brought such a calming aura to the work – I can still hear her laugh! I’m not quite sure how I would have made it through the event planning process without her -working with all the vendors and keeping them in check, among many other tasks.”

– Pamela Wohl, Manager of Individual Giving, AVODAH

“Dana supported the Icarus Project during a period of critical transition and growth. Her depth of experience and keen attention to detail yielded an insightful needs assessment, with recommendations that were both achievable and in line with our organizational values. With Dana’s support, we are successfully diversifying our fundraising strategies to more effectively utilize grassroots and non-traditional funding models. Dana’s humor, compassion, and intelligence make her a pleasure to work with.”

– Maryse Mitchell-Brody, Development Coordinator, The Icarus Project

“Dana Schneider was an invaluable part of the success of Theater for the New City’s production of my play, Martyrs Street. The play was a political drama dealing with israeli-Palestinian issues, and we were looking to use it as a platform to create meaningful dialogue on how to understand and act on the conflict here in the US. Dana helped me create a program that included seven talkbacks after the performances, coordinated the logistics behind them and brought them to life. She mapped out our targets, searched for people in the fields of academia, journalism, political leadership and the arts, and paired them up for maximum interest and raising attendance to the play in general. We flew in figures from Israel, Washington DC, Philadelphia, defining for each one the angle through which we will address the issues in the discussions. Dana also helped raise money for the production by coordinating a fund-raising party, and brought in many audience members by creating events with various organizations in the field. She responded well to any suggestions or requests, and worked in a timely, organized manner to bring to life the political aspect of the play. We were sold out for most of the run, and spoken about in the Israeli/Palestinian activist scene in New York City for a while after we closed, much thanks to Dana.”

– Misha Shulman, Playwright

“Dana Schneider did a fabulous  job organizing our team to organize our fundraiser. She stayed on top of every detail, kept us on track, helped us problem solve, and fostered efficiency with lots of encouragement and unflappability. Best of all, there were no surprises. Dana made the evening itself a flawless event.”

– Ellen Bravo, Executive Director, Family Values@Work

“Dana stepped in to help Adhikaar with our 10th Anniversary gala after we had to reschedule the event due to the earthquake in Nepal. Within a short timeframe, Dana helped us coordinate different vendors and supported our gala planning team. She went the extra mile with a smile – we could not have done it without her.”

– Luna Ranjit, Executive Director, Adhikaar
Dana was the Event Planner for our annual benefit. It was clear from the moment she walked in the door that she understood our mission, would fit into our organizational culture, and that things would go smoothly. Dana is very personable, extremely organized, great at managing people, always on track (and good at keeping us on track). She’s a pleasure to work with!”
– Lize Mogel, Development Manager, Participatory Budgeting Project
We had two major events – an international conference and a fundraising benefit – in two different cities planned for within weeks of each other. Dana stepped into both roles with a level of flexibility and calm that put us at ease. Under her leadership, both events were the most successful of their type for our organization. Dana brings a unique ability to support the collaborative development of big picture vision with the meticulousness required to weave hundreds of tiny threads. The event felt effortless for our guests, and far less effort than ever before for our staff. This feeling of ease is in direct proportion to the work, planning, and leadership that Dana brought. She has set us up for continued success in years to come.
